Feeding Troops
The troop eat a lot in this game and the only way to feed them is to "farm" NPC 5's. To do this you need to have the right Archery/Horseback Riding(HBR) ratio to accomplish farming with zero losses. The correct ratios are as follows: Archery level 8 HBR needs to be level 5 or 6, with Archery level 9 HBR needs to be level 2,3,8, or 9, with Archery 10 HBR can be any level. all these have been tested to give no losses. Once you have the correct ratio you will want to sent 550 ballistas and 500-550 transporters to attack level 5 NPC's near you. the higher you logistics the lower number of transporters you need to send. The goal load vacancy is 3,990,000. NPC level 5 hold 3 million food 180,000 of lumber stone and iron and 450,000 gold. so send out as many as you can and you will be able to feed you troops with little effort. NPCs replenish the food every 8 or so hours so it is possible to attack them 3-4 times a day.
Starting out on Evony
Best way to start is by following the routine quests for the first day or two. You will want to look for a politics hero with at least a 60 base politics(POL), meaning POL is 60 after you subtract the heroes level from his POL stat. With your POL hero as mayor you building time will be shortened as was as your production increased. You will want to get at least a level three feasting hall to house an attack(ATT) hero and an intelligence(INT) hero. Always keep you POL hero as you mayor except when you start a research use INT hero and when you start training troops use ATT hero. You will want to get a few barracks up to level four once you have researched archery and start building archers. one you have 1000 archers, 2000 warriors and 1000 workers, look for a level one Barbarian town(NPC). Sent the 1000 archers, 2000 warriors and 1000 workers to that level one NPC. You will lose some of everything but you will be rewarded with food lumber stone iron and gold. NPC's will not get filled up with resources for 8 hours, at that point you can attack again. Once you get archery to level 6 metal casting to level 5 and a barracks to level 9 start training ballistas. All this can me achieved with the exception of the attacking the NPC's while still under Beginners Protection.
